Facilitators Guide
Facilitators Guide
IDEAL Placements staff members can download the Facilitators Guide from within the online program.
You will find the guide in the first section when you log into the Fun-da-mentals 4U program.
How can I be a good facilitator?
Your main role as a Fun-da-mentals 4U Facilitator is to support participants to fully engage in the program so they can increase their employability and improve their opportunities in life.
Fun-da-mentals 4U is a personal development program. It provides participants with a step-by-step guide and tools to:
Reflect on what is important to them.
Question their own beliefs and fears.
Increase their level of self-awareness and self-responsibility.
Set goal/s for themselves.
Manage their resistance to change.
Even people who are experienced in personal development and goal setting often need support and encouragement to go through this process. This is why your support is important for each participant in the program.
How can I support participants?
The best way for you to support participants is to experience the program yourself. So that you:
Personally understand how the program works
Can guide and support participants from a point of knowledge and experience
Can effectively answer participants questions.
Meet participants where they are at, and help them feel safe about doing the program.
Encourage them, in a friendly and supportive way, to complete the online program and do the activities in the workbook.
Give them a firm and kind and push to move forward if they are making excuses and procrastinating.
Balance this with understanding that some people may be triggered by some of the information or activities.
Some participants may not be ready to do all the workbook activities right now.
Most participates will pick up knowledge from this program that will assist them at some point in their life.
What can I do if I think the program needs improvements?
You can let your supervisor know about your suggested improvements.
